From December 5 to 8, Krasnoyarsk will once again become the center of documentary cinema, hosting the II International Festival of Author Documentary Films SiberiaDOC. This year, films by participating directors will be shown at four venues in the city: in the cinema theater Dom Kino, the children's cinema "Mechta", the museum center "Ploshchad' mira" and the creative cluster of the Siberian Institute for the Development of Creative Industries. Spectators will also enjoy creative meetings with directors and guests of the festival.

The festival's program director, Kristina Daurova, notes: "The schedule of the second international film festival SiberiaDOC will include three programs and two special screenings. The main competition program is the international feature film competition, the international short and medium film competition program, and the Russian film program. Most of the international films are Russian premieres! Meetings and discussions with the authors will be held as part of the screenings of the Russian program".

This year, more than 570 applications from 64 countries have been submitted to the competition program, including Russia, Iran, Brazil, Spain, China, Italy and Argentina. Anna Bakurkina, assistant program director of the festival, added: “For the first time, the Russian program will be shown at the SiberiaDOC film festival! All Russian films that will be included in it have one thing in common — research. Viewers will be treated to a fascinating cinematic journey through a scientific laboratory, warm Abkhazia, archives and diary entries from the beginning of the century, accompanied by the throat singing of a Tuvan musical group, as well as an immersion into the difficult fates of people ”.

The festival was first held in Krasnoyarsk in December 2023 and immediately attracted the attention of the international community: 2,900 applications from 120 countries were submitted. The Grand Prix was awarded to the film "Alone" by Iranian director Jafar Najafi.

The festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the regional Ministry of Culture.
